Santa Barbara County
Early Care and Education Needs Assessment

One of the mandated responsibilities of County Child Care Planning Councils is to undertake a comprehensive assessment of the needs and services for early care and education throughout the county. In 1996 the Santa Barbara County Child Care Planning Council published “Child Care in Santa Barbara County: 1996 Status Report”, and in December 1999 the “Santa Barbara County Child Care Planning Council Needs Assessment” was completed. Copies of both documents are available by contacting the Council Office, sbcccpc@sbceo.org.

In 2005, the Council completed a third assessment of the needs and services for early care and education throughout the county.
