Project Grants

Applications due: November 25, 2008

This grant category is for teachers who have successful, creative or innovative curriculum units or projects. These projects can be either ideas to be developed with the grants funds or classroom tested lessons.

The recipients will display their projects at future events/dinners. The projects will be published in a catalog for all teachers in Santa Barbara County to informally adopt or adapt.

Project Grants are funded by our business partners. There are general funds that apply to any project idea. We also have a few business partners who have specified curricular areas for funding.

There are specified funds available for the following categories:

Projects incorporating lessons on our atmosphere, air pollution, and global climate change. These project grants are supported by Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District.  Simply fill out the standard project grant application incorporating additional information on how your grant project addresses this topic area. For more information, see this page on the APCD website: http://www.sbcapcd.org/teachers.htm.

Projects incorporating all aspects of geography, including travel, maps, and the impact of geography on various cultures. These grants are are supported by Pacific Travelers Supply in Santa Barbara.

Service Learning projects that promote civic mission and students involvement in making a difference in their community.
