This grant category consists of two components. The Team Coach and the Team Members.
The Coach is a teacher who has developed a successful instructional strategy and is ready to work with a team of teachers who wish to learn the strategy. The coach and the strategy will be featured in a catalog that will be distributed to all teachers. The coach will receive $1,000 for materials, time and expertise.
Team Members are teachers who wish to learn a new strategy by observing and collaborating with a coach. Team members will select a coach from the catalog and apply to be on that coach's team. Team members may or may not be at the coaches' school sites. Team member applicants will have the opportunity to make 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice requests. Team members will receive $300 to be used for release time substitutes, educational materials or as a stipend.
The coaches will be selected in October.
The team members will be selected in December.
Teams will present strategies at the Education Celebration
Instructional Strategy Teams will meet each other at the Coach's school site, to get acquainted and set up future dates to meet for collaboration, sharing of ideas, and reflection. The teams will present a brief summary report at the end of the ten-month period and will provide a display at the Fall Curriculum Fair.
