The purpose of TekEase is to provide sustainable support for instructional computer technology in schools. In providing computer and technical support, a renewable cadre of technology proficient students will earn community service and learn job skills in the career pathway of technology. The TekEase Program is supported by Partners in Education and is sponsored by Partners for schools in the South County. High school students who participate in TekEase will receive community service hours and could receive independent study and work experience credits. High school students completing 100 hours or more will receive the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. Elementary and Middle school students who serve 50 hours or more will also receive this award. TekEase was successfully piloted in the spring of 2004. We anticipate serving 16 schools during the 2004-2005 school year.
