New members appointed to County Child Care Planning Council

Kelly Arredondo, Rachel Couch, Leslie Voss, and Katharina Zulliger were appointed to the Santa Barbara County Child Care Planning Council by the County Board of Supervisors and County Superintendent of Schools Bill Cirone, the council’s two cosponsors.

Members are appointed for a two-year term. The current council chair is Dr. Vishna Herrity, executive director of the Gevirtz Research Center at UCSB.

The council, a state-mandated, 30-member body, has recently released three reports regarding the status of early care and education in Santa Barbara County, and is beginning the development of the County’s Early Care and Education Strategic Plan for 2006-2010.
