Showcase event to highlight business partnerships with schools
|

Some 700 new members of Santa Barbara Partners in Educationformerly the Industry Education Councilhave been invited to see highlights of innovative school/business partnerships at a Showcase Mixer from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on March 16 in the grand hall of the First Presbyterian Church at Constance and State Streets in Santa Barbara. Congresswoman Lois Capps (D-Santa Barbara) will be guest host. The showcase will include a broad range of overviews, featuring such programs as Adopt-A-School, Career Centers, Virtual Enterprise Classrooms, Digital High Schools, Groundhog Job Shadowing, the Multi-Media Art and Design Academy, the Visual Arts and Design Academy, the Engineering and Health Academies, the Regional Occupational Program, and the award-winning Computers for Families program. Student leaders from all four south county high schools will greet guests and a light breakfast will be included. Tables and representatives around the room will provide information on each of the programs.
