Confident Parenting workshops slated (Solvang)

 

A Confident Parenting series in Spanish will be offered in Solvang free of charge at People Helping People, 603 Atterdag, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, January 19, 26, February 2, 9, and 16. Free child care is available for children between the ages of 2 and 9.

The workshops are sponsored by the Santa Barbara County Education Office and the Santa Barbara County Drug Program Office.

"Confident Parenting workshops help parents give their children the self-confidence, communication, and problem-solving skills they need to do well in school, and to avoid problems with drugs and alcohol," said William J. Cirone, whose office cosponsors the program. Parents will also learn effective communication skills to improve family relationships.

The program is funded under a contract with the County of Santa Barbara.
