Ainsley First Guest On Cox's Line To Learning

Steve Ainsley, publisher of the Santa Barbara News-Press, is the first guest to appear on the new Cox Communications educational programming, "Line to Learning," as a guest on Education On Line with host County Superintendent Bill Cirone. The program will air at 6:30 p.m. on Channel 8 from October 1 to 16.

Line to Learning is the new educational programming umbrella used by Cox Communication to showcase its commitment to the local educational community.

Education On Line, hosted by Bill Cirone, is one of the programs featured under the Line to Learning umbrella. The Cirone program, produced by Cox Communications in partnership with the Santa Barbara County Education Office, begins its eighth season this fall, bringing the spotlight to high caliber guests who discuss issues of importance to the local community.

In this first program falling under Line to Learning, publisher Ainsley talks about a newspaper's role in supporting public education and provides insights into the local community from the perspective of a local newspaper publisher.

Also falling under the Line to Learning umbrella are Cable in the Classroom, technology as a teaching tool, local digital high schools, and the new digital lab at Santa Barbara City College. Additional programs will showcase the expansion of the Cox Multimedia Academy, Jason Project, and Media Literacy.

"It was a real pleasure to have the opportunity to discuss important issues with Steve Ainsley as my guest on this inaugural edition of Line to Learning programming," said County Superintendent Bill Cirone.

"His insights and observations were extremely interesting and exactly in keeping with the philosophy of sharing important views with our local community. I salute Cox for its continued commitment to airing information and providing support for public education in our area."
