Cabrillo High School’s Aquarium Featured on Telecast

Judy Malta’s second grade class will tour the student-run Cabrillo High School Aquarium on the December edition of "Innovations in Education," produced by the Santa Barbara County Education Office (SBCEO).

Also scheduled is a visit to Cynthia Ward’s sixth grade classroom at Vista de las Cruces School, where students study different cultures by creating several of their own.

In addition, the common object art show at Santa Ynez High School will be featured, where this year’s theme is "stick."

In the "Cable in the Classroom" segment, highlights of some of the documentaries teachers can tape and use in their clasrooms will be shown.

Upcoming educational events countywide will be spotlighted in the "Calendar of Events" segment.

The monthly program airs in South County every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 7 p.m. on Channel 20, and every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. on Channel 21.

In North County, it can be seen on the Government Access Channel every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 7 p.m.

In Lompoc, it’s on at 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday and at 8:30 p.m. every Thursday on Channel 22.

"The goal of the Innovations program is to show members of the community some of the cutting-edge programs occurring in our local classrooms," explained County Superintendent of Schools Bill Cirone, whose office produces the show.

The monthly program is produced and directed by Annette Luciani of the SBCEO instructional media services department, who travels the county in an effort to showcase a representative sampling of outstanding teachers and programs in Santa Barbara County.
