More than 30 business/community leaders to take part in Principal for a Day events

More than 30 Santa Maria business and community leaders will take part in the 10th annual Principal For a Day program on March 18. The event is co-sponsored by the Santa Maria Valley Economic Development Association and the Santa Maria Valley Industry Education Council (SMVIEC).

Business and community leaders will spend the morning at a public or private school campus to learn more about the challenges facing local educators by stepping into their shoes for a day. The partner may also teach a class, attend school meetings, or participate in award assemblies.

After the on-site experience, participants will meet at the Elks Lodge to share their experiences and receive recognition for their participation.

The keynote speaker, County Superintendent Bill Cirone, will speak on “Working Together for a Better Future.”

More information is available by contacting Peggy Greer, SMVIEC Liaison, at 922-9455, ext. 2203.
