Borders sales to benefit LEAP

Preschool students with autism who are served through the LEAP program (Learning Enrichment Autism Program) will benefit from sales at Borders Bookstore in Goleta and downtown Santa Barbara April 18-20.

In support of National Autism Month in April, the local Borders Bookstores have agreed to donate 15 percent of the profits made from April 18-20 to the LEAP preschool program operated by the Santa Barbara County Education Office if the customer mentions LEAP. Internet purchases are not counted, only purchases made directly at one of the locations.

Parents of children enrolled in the LEAP program are making efforts to raise funds to purchase materials and equipment that will enhance learning opportunities for their children in the school setting. Their intent is to transform the classroom space into a sensory, communication, and technologically enhanced model classroom.
