South County Spirit Awards

Sixteen students from the South Coast of Santa Barbara County will receive the annual Spirit Awards conferred by the Santa Barbara County Education Office, Bill Cirone, Superintendent, beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, in the auditorium of the County Education Office, 4400 Cathedral Oaks Road, Santa Barbara.

The annual spirit awards salute students who have demonstrated good citizenship, worked hard for their grades, and continually have a positive attitude.

"These impressive young people have been nominated by teachers and staff at their schools for their outstanding spirit," said Bill Cirone, whose office coordinates the program. "We are proud of their accomplishments and the role they serve as models for other students."

A reception for students, family, friends, and teachers will follow the ceremony.

A ceremony was held for North County spirit award winners on Tuesday, May 30, in the Joe Nightingale School cafeteria, 255 Winter Road, Santa Maria.
