'Noteworthy Partnerships' to be theme of annual SMVIEC breakfast

“Noteworthy Partnerships” will be the theme of the annual Santa Maria Valley Industry Education Council’s (SMVIEC) business appreciation breakfast at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, May 17, at Elks Lodge #1528, 1309 N. Bradley Road, Santa Maria.

The purpose of the event is to recognize all the successful business/education partnerships over the last year and the support provided to local schools.

A special performance will be given by children from the combined school bands of the Orcutt, Guadalupe, Santa Maria-Bonita, and Santa Maria High School districts.

The Computer Connections Committee, a joint partnership of the Industry Education Council and the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce, will distribute four new computer/ monitor/printer packages to four students.

The annual event provides an opportunity for educators to express their appreciation to all the businesses, large and small, who donate time, services, surplus materials, resources, awards, and expertise to local schools.

The pubic is invited to attend and may make reservations by calling Peggy Greer, SMVIEC liaison, at 922-9455, ext. 2203.
