Cirone, Bednersh, Chase win ACSA awards

Bill Cirone, Santa Barbara County Superintendent of Schools, and Dr. Florene Bednersh, assistant superintendent for special education at the County Education Office, were among 14 educators to win 2001-02 administrator of the year awards in various categories from Region XIII of the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA). Dr. Wynelle Chase won the administrative excellence award for South Santa Barbara County.

Cirone won the award for superintendent of the year and Bednersh won for special education administrator of the year.

Also in Santa Barbara County, Diana Frost Rigby, assistant superintendent for elementary education/student services at the Santa Barbara School District, won for central office administrator county/district administrator of the year; Susan Williams of Lompoc Adult School won for adult education administrator of the year; Cynthia White, fiscal services coordinator at the Guadalupe Union School District, won for business services administrator of the year; and Roger Hill, assistant superintendent of instruction at Santa Maria Join Union High School District, won for curriculum and instruction administrator of the year.

The regional winners now proceed to the state level of the ACSA awards system.
