Applications Being Accepted for YouthForce 2000

 

The program is designed to enhance basic educational skills of youth; encourage school completion; provide eligible students with exposure to the world of work; provide them with marketable skills; have them develop a positive work ethic and effective work habits; enhance basic citizenship skills;  network with local employers; explore various occupations and career options; and earn money for school and family expenses while learning.

To be eligible, students must demonstrate financial need, through a variety of mechanisms such as parent’s pay stubs for the last six months, a verification letter from an employer, receipt of government aid,  a foster youth court letter, or other means.
 
 
In addition, students must have one other qualifying condition such as a basic skills deficiency,  a verified physical, mental or learning disability, be a pregnant or parent teen, a school dropout, be in foster care or homeless.
