Roles, Responsibilities, and Criteria
for
District/Site Administrator
Santa Barbara County BTSA Induction Program

District/Site Administrator Criteria:

  • Accommodate the needs of the Participating Teachers and Support Providers participating in the various activities of the BTSA Induction program.
  • Participate in the BTSA Induction Administrative Training.
  • Provide the release time needed by Participating Teachers and Support Providers to complete observations throughout the year (2 release days for each Participating Teacher and 2 release days per PT for each Support Provider).
  • Participate in program evaluation process and provide feedback on the program's effectiveness.
  • Provide $2,000 of in-kind support for each Participating Teacher participating in the BTSA Induction Program.


District/Site Administrator Benefits.

  • Provides an effective transition into the teaching career for 1st and 2nd year teachers.
  • Enables Participating Teachers to be effective in teaching students who are culturally, linguistically and academically diverse.
  • Establishes an effective and coherent system of support and assessment.

 

Site Administrator Focus Points
  • Participate in design, implementation and evaluation of program.
  • Promote success of participating teachers.
  • Provide the structure and positive climate for support and assessment activities on site.
    • Complete and Implement the Site Administrator Action Plan which includes:
    • Orientation for new teachers (site resources, personnel, and policies).
    • Focus on State-adopted academic content standards.
    • Focus on CSTP.
    • Ensure site-level induction activities consistently.
    • Participate in program evaluation
