Incentives

STAR Project (First 5 Santa Barbara County, Early Care and Education Division)

  • The Stipends for Training and Retention (STAR) project is a financial incentive program that encourages and supports ECE providers in their professional development. Credentials & Permits

Child care program staff credentials reflect the education and experience of the teachers/providers.

Accredited programs require specified staff training or education.

  • For child care center staff, information is available at the National Association for the Education of Young Children, NAEYC accreditation.
  • For Family Child Care providers information is available at the National Association for Family Child Care, NAFCC Accreditation.
