FOOD AND NUTRITION

1. Put water on top of machine (So that it is the most visible drink).
2. Have more water than fruit juice.
3. Have larger bottles of water for better value.
4. Eliminate candy as classroom reward.
5. Eliminate McDonalds certificate; come up with a healthier choice.
6. Talk to McDonald's manager about promoting healthier food choices for students.
7. Come up with non-food rewards - homework passes, notepads, and pencils, dance passes (or discounts) discounts at local stores.
8. Offer healthy food rewards - Nuts? (Check allergies) toasted soybeans, carrots, apple chips, sunflower seeds without the shells and pretzels.
9. Stay away food as reward.
10. Serve juices and water at dances instead of soda.
11. Survey students as to see what changes they'd like to see.
12. Dilute bottled dressings.
13. Educate kids about portion control.
14. Educate kids on soy products and their value.
15. Offer more fresh fruits and vegetables (already have a great start on this.
16. Use seasonings kids like (Chili Powder/ Pico Degallo) to encourage kids
to eat salads, vegetables, etc. (already working on this).
17. Don't allow caffeinated drinks on campus (already in place).
18. What about coffee drinks? - Maybe not allow on campus.
19. Have students do a nutrition play.
20. Have students create a "Healthy Cookbook" and possibly sell.
21. Help students discover healthy baking.
