Leadership Team Meeting
March 18, 2003
Minutes

1. Time Cards: You will start getting paid in April. A percentage (9-10%) will be deducted for benefits for school employees.
2. Budget Expenditures: You may spend approximately 50% now. We will receive a 40% allotment in November. Exceptions will be made for large ticket items needed to complete grant objectives.
3. The next LEAF Grant network meeting will be held from May 20th to the 22nd in Santa Monica. Kathleen will get a school vehicle and will drive. We will share rooms as possible. (Bonnie & Sandy, Marybeth & Sheri). Lynn, Jack and Kathleen will have their own rooms. Conference request forms need to be completed.
4. Sandy, Lynn and Bonnie will be attending the "ABC's of School Lunch Programs" in Davis on March 26th.
5. Bonnie, Sandy, Suzi Stock and Mary Foley will attend "A Garden in Every School Conference" on Saturday, April 5th. Sandy's husband will drive.
6. Media forms were passed out. We need to give advance notice to Mike Danzik whenever we have LEAF Grant events.
7. A Progress Report Form was given to everyone. Bonnie is working on this. It is due on April 15th. Please let her know if you have things to include. She needs help form Lynn and Sheri.
8. Sandy will check into available garden grants.
9. CNCAAP Meeting: A list of ideas gathered from each of the small groups was passed out. Each group leader will research each idea as to feasibility and get back to Sheri by Friday, March 28th. She will complete a report to be distributed to each Advisory Committee member.
10. We decided to form the following Sub-Committees:

• Garden Committee: Will meet April 17th. Bob will check as to the best location for the garden. Bonnie will invite the following members: Suzan Carter, Laura Shepherd, Amy Orosco, Emily Miles, Marty Selfridge, John Avila, Lupe Cuevas, Bambi Leonard, Marybeth Carty, Suzy Stock, Mary Foley, Chris Gorman and Harry.
• Fitness Committee: Will meet March 25th. Kathleen will discuss the track, equipment needs, hard court space and the grant.
• Policy Committee: Sheri will invite Lynn Gibson, Bob Keatinge, Sally Green, Dan Bryant, Donna Stuart, Van Latham, Geneva Cerda & Reese Martinez.

11. Ask with Ruthie Tremel and Ana Loshe to host a meeting to suggest that after school programs ( ie. Boys and Girls Inc.) support nutrition policies.
12. Lynn & Bonnie will host a "Salad Bar" for dinner the night of "Open House". Parents and students can buy a salad for $1.00 in the cafeteria and then eat it in the Home Ec. room.
13. Lynn will develop a list of snacks for sports groups.
14. We need to get more involvement from the high school.
15. Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 8th
