Library Rules and Policies

 

Library Media Center (LMC) Policies

á      If you arenÕt sure where or how to find something, ask! ThatÕs what the LMC staff loves to do

á      Treat LMC staff, other students, and resources with respect

á      No food or drinks

á      Appropriate language only

á      Students must have a pass (name, date, time, teacher signature) if they are in the LMC without a class

á      Photocopies are 10 cents per page. Our machine accepts quarters, dimes and nickels

Computer Lab Policies

á      Treat computers and other equipment with respect

á      Computers are for educational use. If you are found using the computers inappropriately, you may be banned temporarily from using computers on campus

á      No games

á      No chatting

á      No downloading, installing, or removing software

á      Print only what you need and print it only one time

á      Do not bypass security measures that have been put in place by the school district

Textbooks

á      An SMHS ID card is required to check out textbooks

á      Textbooks are due at the end of the term in which you finish the course

á      Treat textbooks with care

á      We recommend that you not leave textbooks in a classroom as they may Òwalk awayÓ and then you are responsible for its replacement

á      Lost textbooks will result in a fine to replace. You may not receive your grades, be able to participate in extra curricular activities, or receive your schedule at Royal Return if you do not pay your debt. Overdue notices will be sent to help you remember what you have checked out.

á      When you check out a textbook, inspect them for damage. If you notice damage, inform the Library Media staff immediately and you will be issued another textbook. Damage fees will be assessed if you return a damaged textbook to the library at the end of the term.

Library Materials

You may check out library materials (books, CDs, DVDs, videos, etc) for work in a class or for your own pleasure.

á      An SMHS ID card is required to check out library materials

á      Students may check out 10 books/materials at one time. Most Library materials are checked out for 3 weeks and all are renewable.

á      Magazines are for use in the Library Media Center only

á      Most reference materials are for in-center use only, but some may be checked out overnight.

á      Treat library materials with care

á      Lost Library materials will result in a fine to replace. You may not receive your grades, be able to participate in extra curricular activities, or receive your schedule at Royal Return if you do not pay your debt. Overdue notices will be sent to help you remember what you have checked out.
