Mission Statement

In the San Marcos High School Library Media Center, our goal is to ensure that our students graduate as competent, critical, and ethical users of information. We support the school's curriculum, assist all members of the learning community in becoming effective users of information, and foster the love of reading.

The San Marcos High School Library Media Center is committed to:

· Providing the best possible level of access to information in a range of formats to meet the educational and recreational needs of the school community

· Supporting the school’s curriculum

· Providing responsive and proactive customer service

· Promoting an appreciation and enjoyment of literature

· Fostering independent lifelong learning skills through information literacy programs.

Services

· Collaboration with classroom teachers to create effective research projects

· Working with students to find appropriate reading and research materials

· Working with students to find appropriate online sources (databases and websites)

· Providing orientation to the Library Media Center
