American Red Cross Mr. Ceriale Tuesdays at lunch in H-4B. We put on several fundraisers for causes such as Measles Initiative, Malaria NOMORE, and Disaster Relief.

California Scholarship Foundation Ms. Cutrell Students must apply each October (with copies of Terms 3 & 4 report cards from the previous year) and each February (with copies of Terms 1 & 2 report cards from the current school year). Must have a 3.5 GPA and meet other criteria. Room D-10

Gay/Straight Alliance Mr. Hobbs Tuesdays at lunch in D-5. We are dedicated to supporting gay, lesbian, and transgender students. We also work to raise awareness in the larger school community about tolerance and diversity.

Math Club Mr. Egbert Tuesdays at lunch in room I-8. We prepare for and participate in math competitions at the local, state, and national levels.
Mock Trial Mr. Ohrn Wednesday nights in D-4 and D-8. We prepare a mock trial case to compete against other County schools in Febraury. We ar the defending County Champions.

National Honors Society Mr. Hobbs Open to any 10th through 12th grader who earns a 3.75 or higher GPA and maintains community service requirements. Students join in September and February. Chapter induction meetings are in October and March. There are approximately 300 students active in NHS. Room D-5
O Ambassadors Ms. Duchesne-Peckham

Every other Wednesday at lunch in B-5. We are a nationwide US and Canadian club sponsored by Oprah's Angel Network and the Canadian group "Free the Children." The goal is to promote awareness of serious issues facing developing nations worldwide as well as fund-raising to help alleviate some of these problems. Our assigned area is West Africa.

Writer's Society Mr. Hobbs Mondays at lunch in D-5. Students are encouraged to share their essays, stories, poems, and scripts for feedback and suggestions for revision. We sponsor field trips tohear nad meet with published authors or to see play productions. We also sponsor The Phreaner Writing Contest each year. It is a spring celebration of talent in writing, and thanks to the generosity of the PTSA, hundreds of dollars in awards are presented in 7 categories. Winning entries are published in the SM Literary Magazine, a yearly publication.
