Care and Share II - Third Grade Teachers
Philanthropy Grants
Care and Share II was developed through a partnership between the Santa Barbara Foundation, the Orfalea Fund, and the Santa Barbara County Education Office. The grants of $250 are non-competitive, and easy to apply for. Simply complete the Request For Funds * (Grant Application) application and FAX or mail it to the Santa Barbara County Education Office.
- Application Deadline: December 31, 2009
You may apply as soon as your class decideds on a project.
You will recieve the funds approximately 2 weeks after your application has been received.
- Projects must be completed by April 30, 2010
You will receive a Project Report form when your project idea is approved.
- Resource Booklet
All 3rd grade teachers received a Resource Booklet outlining a variety of great projects, and listing non-profits that are set up to work with you and your class. If you need another copy, contact us and we can send you one.
Projects must:
1. develop an understanding and appreciation of philanthropy and community service;
2. cultivate an ethic of giving;
3. provide youth with philanthropic learning experiences that enable them to realize their own power to make a difference in the community through the simple act of giving.
