| LIFE SCIENCE:
Life Science is a
balance of activities, labs and lectures with an emphasis on “hands-on,
minds-on” activities. Through
scientific investigations, students use scientific equipment, models,
specimens, and computer technology to conduct experiments.
Through these scientific investigations, students explore concepts
of Cell Biology, Genetics, Evolution, Earth and Life History, Structure
and Function in Living Systems, and Ecology.

PHYSICAL SCIENCE:
Physical Science at La Colina is a balance of activities, labs, and
lectures with an emphasis on "hands-on, minds-on"
activities. Through scientific investigation students use scientific
equipment, models, specimens, and computer technology to conduct
experiments. Through these scientific investigations, students
explore concepts of Motion, Forces, Structure of Matter, Earth in the
Solar System, reactions, Chemistry of Living Systems, the periodic Table,
and Density and Buoyancy. All 8th graders participate in the La
Colina Science Fair by conducting independent research.
