THE LA CUMBRE LIBRARY
The La Cumbre Library is an active, welcoming hub where students check out books, read, work on homework, do research, and learn information literacy skills. We have over 17,000 fiction, non-fiction and reference books, as well as subscriptions to a variety of magazines. The library has 15 computers for student use in its main room and an adjoining computer lab with 30 PCs.
La Cumbre is proud to use Accelerated Reader as its reading incentive program. Our library collection includes high interest, high quality literature. Students are challenged to read exciting books, be tested on their reading, and earn points at the same time. These points are later converted to tangible rewards that encourage students to read more.
Our library is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., open during lunch. Students, teachers, staff, and parents are welcome to check out books, use reference materials, and access the Internet-capable computers.
