RENAISSANCE AWARDS
Academic achievement is honored at quarterly Renaissance Awards assemblies, which are a huge hit with La Cumbre students. The entertainment is always a surprise: teachers in funny skits, music, magicians...who knows what will happen next!
Grade point averages are recognized at three levels:
- Blue .......... 3.5 to 3.8, no "N"s or "U"s
- Silver ........ 3.8 to 3.99, no "N"s or "U"s
- Gold .......... 4.0, all "O"s
La Cumbre has so many high-achieving students that it can take some time to recognize them all, but it’s worth it. Students receive gift certificates for Blenders or Borders Books, La Cumbre T-shirts, and Renaissance Rewards cards, which can be used for special school benefits (like getting out of one homework assignment or skipping a lap on Run Day!). Scholars also get to enter a lottery for other great prizes.
