Seventh Grade art is a one semester class that focuses on the Elements of Art and the
Principals of design. This class is where students develop their basic drawing and
painting skills. All projects have appropriate art history background. All Students
will keep a sketchbook for the semester.
Eighth Grade Art is a one year class that takes students farther into the Elements of
Art and Principals of Design. During this class students will experiment with many
different media and explore their personal creativity. All Students will keep a
sketchbook that will serve as a portfolio cataloging their year in art.
Core Knowledge Fine Arts is a class that focuses on the history of art and music as
well as art making and creation of music. Seventh grade fine arts focuses on the age
of Impressionism through Modern Art in the 1940's. The music standards focus on
Romantic Classical Music through the Jazz and Blues age.
