La Cumbre Library Media Center

The La Cumbre Library is an active, welcoming hub where students check out books, read, do homework, and attend with their classes to learn library research skills. We have over 17,000 fiction, non-fiction and reference books, as well as subscriptions to a variety of magazines. The library has 15 computers for student use in its main room and an adjoining computer lab with 30 PCs.

La Cumbre is proud to use Accelerated Reader as its reading incentive program. With the librarian, Mr. Steve Sterling, purchasing high interest, high quality literature, students are challenged to read exciting books, be tested on their reading, and earn points at the same time. These earned points are later converted to tangible rewards that encourage students to read more.

Our library is open Monday to Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including the lunch period. Students, teachers, staff, and parents are welcome to check out books and magazines, use reference materials, and access the internet-capable computers at anytime.

Please contact us with any questions or suggestions!
