Info:
The focus of the program is pre-engineering, applied specifically to the aerospace industry. Students will participate in an integrated core curriculum of English, Math,
and Science plus a technology elective. In the 10th grade students learn the
process for making a new product and are introduced to computer-aided machining
in Design and Engineering. In 11th grade, students take Digital Electronics and Robotics.
They learn about electronic components, digital logic, programming and design and build their own
robots. Finally, in the 12th grade, students learn more about manufacturing and
solve real problems provided by our business partners while taking either ROP
Advanced Drafting/CAD or Metals 3.
As a California Partnership Academy, the STaR Program is successful because
it is supported not only by the Lompoc Unified School District but also by the
California Department of Education, corporate sponsors, and community partners.
