All students, limited-English proficient, gifted, and learning disabled, are integrated into all programs. Parent, student, and teacher conferences are held to communicate information about student programs and to help assure student success.

Community agencies working with us to provide services for students include Police Depanment, National Council on Alcoholism [BABES], and Retired Senior Volunteer Program [RSVP]. Pre-school children bound for Monroe are assisted in reading readiness activities. Monroe PT A sponsors effective parenting classes. The school is seeking additional counseling services through private and public agencies.

To help our students to success through reading, the RAH! [Read at Home] program for primary grades was developed. The effon continues with Reading Initiative under the librarian's leadership. Monroe students are rewarded for reading lOO books by the Century Club program. The library coordinates school wide themes and programs which use reading across the curriculum.
