School and Program Effectiveness

Monroe uses a variety of methods to evaluate the effectiveness of its standards' based school program and practices. The computer analyses of Stanford 9 tests, student portfolios, Brigance and teacher prepared reading progress tests are used at grade level meetings to assess student needs and to examine our curriculum and teaching strategies. Monroe students score consistently high on test scores in all academic areas.

Information from Self-Reviews, Program Quality Reviews, and parent-teacher conferences are also important in evaluating our program.

Students, staff and parents are proud of our 1987 and 1997 California Distinguished Elementary School Awards.
