Learning Environment

Monroe School promotes a positive learning environ- ment through awards from PTA, faculty, and community. Students are recognized at weekly assemblies for outstanding citizenship, academic achievement, and demonstration and usage of life skills themes in problem solving situations.

Each classroom develops a set of rules to govern behavior in a creative and positive manner. Monthly Multi-Cultural assemblies promote pride and respect in the various cultures represented at our school.

The Monroe Messenger reports on activities of individuals and classes, providing a link between home and school.

A cross-age tutoring program has been developed to provide one-to-one skills reinforcement in specific academic areas. This program promotes academic achievement and enhances self-esteem for all participants.

Class teaming helps create a comfortable, family atmosphere, enabling each child to work at his or her greatest potential.
