Learning Environment

The inclusive education program in Grades 3-6, established by the Monroe staff, coordinates the resources in the school available to assist students with special needs. A team consisting of the Special Education Resource teacher, the Special Day Class teacher, and several instructional aides work to provide the least restrictive environment for students. This process enables the staff to provide small group instruction to all students, including regular education students. The focus of instruction is on developing oral language, reading and writing. Test scores continue to improve.
