Dear Notre Dame Family,
We are in our last week
before Holy Week. It seems that there is so much left to do, to ask for, to be
open to, to surrender, and to change. We beg forgiveness for our pride and our hardened
hearts. Jesus invites us to open our lives
and free ourselves from the burden of our judgments. "Let the one among you who is
without sin be the first to throw a stone."
As
we continue to prepare ourselves to be open to God's graces, let us continue to try to
choose Lent, to act Lent, in very concrete ways. We must examine our patterns and
realign our priorities. Our hearts are being renewed, as we experience God's
reconciling love and beg for the gift of healing.
Next Saturday, Notre Dame
will host a Lenten Retreat for our school families, faculty and staff. What a perfect way to begin your Holy Week that
leads us to the Passion and Resurrection of our Lord and Savior. It is an opportunity to
share your faith experiences with others. The Retreat team has planned an afternoon that
will be spiritually uplifting with a great closing Family Liturgy! Hope to see you
there!!!
I also ask for your prayers
for those teachers who will be attending the Religious Education Congress in Anaheim that the Lord
blesses them with an uplifting weekend.
So let us continue to beg for the graces we need and
desires this week. We ask our heavenly Father for courage in our journey ahead.
Have a great 3 day weekend!
Blessings,
Deacon Henry
News and Notes:
Morning Drop off: Just a reminder that there
is no morning supervision before 7:30am. Students are being
dropped off and left unattended in the front of the school. For their safety please be
cautious about the time.
Notre Dame Schools First
Drama Production: You are invited to our
drama production of The Ever After under the direction of Miss Alvarado on
Friday, March 26th at 7:00pm. School Auditorium Doors
open at 6:30pm. The Ever After! is about a cheesy talk show host
who invites traditional fairy tale characters to reconcile on live television. From Snow
White and the Evil Queen to Cinderella and her middle-aged Ugly Stepsisters, this TV show
parody asks the question, "Can't we all just get along?" The talk show is
punctuated by questions from obnoxious studio audience members and hilarious infomercials
for fairy tale related products. Even Jiminy Cricket, now an occupational therapist and
author of "My Life as Your Conscience," makes a guest appearance to lend his
professional opinion. Complete with a magic talking mirror, an unfortunate prince who is
turning slowly back into a frog and many other wacky fairy tale bits, audience members of
all ages will surely love this play!
