Our History
Partners in Education and its programs are administered by the Santa Barbara County Education Office.
Partners in Education is a nonprofit organization with roots in our community that go back more than 30 years. The group was first formed in 1977 by leaders in the business and education communities as the Community Career Development Council, a subcommittee of the National Business Alliance and later as the local chapter of the Industry Education Council of California. In response to the growth and success of its programs, the SBIEC decided to form an independent 501 (c)(3) organization. In 2000 Santa Barbara Partners in Education became the official name of the organization. Key committees which help guide Partners' efforts include the Executive Committee, Computers for Families Committee, Career Education Committee, and Technology Committee.
