In today’s educational environment of high stakes accountability and challenging state and federal mandates, it is essential that leaders gain command of proven strategies that promote excellence in teaching and learning.
The Santa Barbara County Education Office (SBCEO) has a proven track record of providing a comprehensive continuum of leadership pathways and professional support to develop teacher leaders and administrators who have a deep understanding of the structures, governance, and actions that will result in student achievement gains.
Through the State-approved SBCEO Preliminary Administrative Services Credential Program (Tier I), leadership candidates are provided with practical, research-based approaches, tools, models, and information needed to be successful in today’s educational environment. The program facilitators are current or former site and district administrators with a deep knowledge of "what works."
Program Overview:
- Limited to 25 candidates
- Face-to-face seminars one weekend per month and during the summer (24 days)
- Online follow-up
- Fieldwork (60 hours)
Outcome: Preliminary Administrative Services Credential : 24 units of University credit (optional)

Program Cost: $6,200/Candidate
Master’s Degree: SBCEO is collaborating with California Lutheran University to offer an optional Master’s Degree at additional cost. Please call for more information.
