The Santa Barbara County Regional Occupational Program (ROP), established in 1974, is one of 72 regional occupational centers and programs serving the State of California. Our mission is to provide our program enrollees with state-of-the-art vocational skill training of the highest quality. ROP classes are available to area residents who are at least 16 years of age without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, religion, income, or handicap. Classes are designed to meet the following student needs: entry level job preparation, upgrading of present skills, or preparation for advanced occupational training. All ROP classes count for high school graduation credit and some ROP classes count for community college credit. The
Santa Barbara County ROP is operated by the County Education
Office in conjunction with local high school districts. All ROP
instructors are fully credentialed by the State Department of
Education and possess business/industry experience in the occupational
area in which they teach. |
