teacher and district mentor for almost 9 years in the Little Lake City School District before he became a teacher-on-loan to the Los Angeles County Office of Education. There he served as a Reading Specialist, primarily delivering AB 1086 Reading/Language Arts training to teachers of grades K-12.

From there, David took a position at the Orange County Department of Education as a Coordinator of the Southern California Comprehensive Assistance Center, where his priorities were to coordinate and deliver district and site professional development through the Reading Success Network (RSN), an initiative focused on K-3 reading assessments, data analysis, prevention/intervention, peer coaching and networking.

He also provided service and support through the Title VII and the Family Involvement Networks. He also worked with Title IX grantees, including developing and delivering a training for volunteer reading tutors. David was a principal author and trainer of the Reading Success Network training which was implemented nation-wide and was also adopted as required professional development for the California Reading Excellence Act.

David moved back to Los Angeles County as a Consultant with the Reading Excellence Act REA in which he was a developer/trainer of RSN, the Team Coaching Model, REA Training for Principals, and other related professional development. David has served as a national trainer and site pilot liaison of the Compact for Reading for the U.S. Department of Education, as an adjunct professor for National University and as an independent consultant throughout California.
