Santa Barbara Partners in Education’s number one priority is to raise the funds required to sustain our award-winning Computers for Families program (CFF). Because classroom education is moving swiftly toward full technology integration, all students need computers at home to ensure that they can fully and equally participate in their education.
CFF Annual Budget
- The CFF annual budget is $199,000. This budget funds service to 24 south coast CFF elementary schools and includes computer refurbishment, Internet accounts, teacher training, family training, and ongoing technical support to teachers and families.
- CFF’s education and community partnerships make the project financially feasible. The project benefits from 11 main partnerships that are conservatively valued at providing $267,600 annually in direct program support, not including the donated computers.
CFF Sustainability Fund
The CFF Sustainability Fund goal is $4 million. With an average 5% annual return on investment ($200,000), this Fund will ensure the following in perpetuity:
- Every year, 600 low-income families with children entering fourth grade will receive refurbished computers, Internet access and training.
- The 24 schools that have been served by CFF over the past nine years will continue to be served.
- Teacher training in support of computer distribution and technology integration will continue.
- The award-winning refurbishment program at Los Prietos Boys Camp will continue to operate.
- All revenue earned from the Sustainability Fund will be restricted to supporting direct service to families. Agency overhead is excluded.
