The children diligently studied their Alphafriends in their reading program and put together a banner/quilt to share with the Good Samaritan Homeless Shelter homework club. It provides both a great review of letters and sounds and interpretation of
their Alphafriends and a warm connection with our friends without homes.?

The students are also actively engaged in learning multicultural songs and dances this year. What a joy to be able to share our
lively music with the residents at the Lifesteps Wisdom Center, a building full of elderly persons in various stages of declining health (both physical and mental) and developing wisdom. The joy and laugher are cemented. reciprocally, as the performance rises and wanes to the clapping and tapping of both audience and participants. The community of seniors needs us and we need them as we learn our academic skills and develop our service skills simultaneously and heartily!
