November News The Canned Food Drive: A message from Mr. BattleThank you to all parents and students for the hundreds of canned food turned into our school in support of the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission. We received a tremendous thank you for the help we provided for the hundreds of people in need on Thanksgiving. WEB Leaders Hold 1st Annual Pie Day at SBJHSOn November 25th WEB leaders set out serve a piece of pie to each student and staff member at SBJHS. Thanks to the help of parents who donated pies, WEB leaders were able to accomplish their mission with only two pies left over. Along with this event, there was a pie eating contest in the Quad. Staff member Velencia Castellanos won the contest and Mr. Battle was disqualified because he refused to get any pie on his face. He felt he had to uphold his "pretty boy" image. Oh well, a good time was had by all.... Happy Thanksgiving! Tea Fire Assistance Information-Click HereSBJHS Tea Fire Gift-Card DriveNovember 20th-December 5th, 2008
From November 20th-December 5th, Santa Barbara Junior High's PTSA will sponsor a “Gift-Card Donation Drive” for the victims of the Tea Fire. With help from the One World Club, Leadership, and students and families like you, the drive should be a great success. Previous SBJHS fundraisers have earned as much as $8,000.00. We hope this drive to be just as successful as past fundraisers because our “Gift Card Donation Drive” will go directly to people who attend Santa Barbara Junior High School and live in our own community.
For those who lost their belonging and homes, their loss is immeasurable and we hope that through this Gift Card Drive, we can help them start anew despite such tragedy.
Please include the amount of the Gift Card , as we need to allocate funds evenly. Some ideas for business locations are as follows: Home Improvement Stores, Clothing Stores, Grocery Stores, Target, etc. (Please also remember to purchase gift cards from locations that are economically stable.)
!*Please turn donations into the office at 721 E. Cota Street, or
Mr. Battle’s Room 110 or
Ms. Parker’s Room 140.
** Please note that you may make a monetary donation instead by making check payable to SBJHS PTSA for "Tea Fire Relief" Congratulations to Our November Students of the Month!7th Grade: John Weger and Laticia Zuniga 8th Grade: Channing Peake and Ana Perez
