SBJHS Honors Academy

The Honors Program at Santa Barbara Junior High consists of an interdisciplinary team that provides a rigorous, standards-based academic program for students who are above grade level in both reading and writing. Honors students share a team of core teachers that meet on a regular basis to provide cross-curricular opportunities with a thematic approach. With regular team meetings, teachers are able to communicate about the progress of each student, discuss the needs of their students, and prepare a coordinated curriculum in the core subject areas.  

The goal of the Honors program is to prepare the students academically so that they will be ready for a rigorous high school program of study. Honors students will be prepared to face the challenges of Advanced Placement courses in high school.
