At Santa Barbara Junior High we offer English classes that cover the English Language Arts standards for 7th and 8th grade. Classroom activities include Cornell notes, test-taking tips, reading comprehension strategies, practice in various writing domains, cooperative work, and group projects. Classes regularly visit the school library to encourage reading. Placement in courses is determined by performance on State standardized tests, achievement in prerequisite courses, and teacher recommendation.
