Math Department

At Santa Barbara Junior High, we offer many levels of mathematics courses
to meet all students learning capabilities and needs. All of our courses
cover California State Mathematics Standards for 7th grade, Algebra, or
Geometry. Classroom activities include instruction on note-taking,
test-taking tips, daily practice, cooperative work, group projects, work
with manipulatives, incorporating technology, mathematical games, and
weekly assessments. Placement in courses is determined by performance on
State tests, achievement in prerequisite courses/levels, and teacher
recommendation.
