In our world, science
is everywhere you look. From the weather, to the cars and buses that bring us to school, to the
plants and animals that inhabit our city, to the surf that crashes on the Santa Barbara shores,
we are surrounded by science. The science department at Santa Barbara Junior High School strives
to make its students aware of this connection, and to give them the tools they need to think
critically about their world.
We provide a broad-based curriculum that introduces seventh-grade students to life science while
the eighth-grade curriculum provides the students with a survey of the physical sciences.
