Health Linkages Oral Health Program
Mission and Vision
Our mission is to improve the oral health of our community's children through the coordination and execution of comprehensive oral health prevention, identification and restorative treatment programs and services.
Our vision is that every Santa Barbara County community member will have access to quality oral health services to prevent and treat dental disease and advance their overall health and development.
What we Do
We work to ensure that all community members—especially children, families, and underserved populations—have the knowledge and resources to maintain good oral health.
SERVICES
Our program supports individuals of all ages, with a special focus on children, low-income families, and communities with limited access to dental care.
Santa Barbara County's Oral Health Plan Implementation
In 2020, the Santa Barbara County Education Office (SBCEO) received funding to create a local plan for better oral health. The funding came from the California Department of Public Health’s Office of Oral Health and was provided through Proposition 56, a law passed in 2016 that adds a tax on tobacco products to support healthcare and education.
The goal of this funding is to teach people about oral health, prevent dental disease, and help connect people to dental care. Since receiving the funding, SBCEO’s Health Linkages Oral Health Program has created a plan to improve oral health in Santa Barbara County and track progress toward better dental care for the community.
