Dental Screenings

Tiny Teeth, Big Smiles is a preschool prevention program offering oral health screenings. The Preschool Prevention Program helps young children learn how to take care of their teeth. It includes free oral health screenings and fun, three 20-minute lessons for students. Kids learn about:

  • How to brush and floss their teeth the right way
  • Healthy eating habits (learning about "Sometimes Foods")
  • Why brushing before bed is important ("Brush, Book, Bed")

Parents can also join three hands-on workshops, where they get helpful tools and kits to keep their child’s teeth healthy at home. Right now, 14 state preschools are part of this program.

Why Early Oral Health Care Matters

Taking care of your child’s teeth from an early age is essential for their health, confidence, and overall well-being. Here’s why starting good oral hygiene habits early makes a big difference:

How to Keep Your Child’s Smile Healthy

✅ Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste
✅ Floss daily (with help for younger children)
✅ Limit sugary snacks and drinks
✅ Visit the dentist regularly for check-ups
✅ Make brushing fun with songs, timers, or rewards
