About Our Program

The Special Education division of the Santa Barbara County Education Office is comprised of several departments that provide services to students with unique needs.  Our programs and services include Early Start, Special Education Preschool, Regional Center, direct service to districts, and WorkAbility. 

We believe in the voice of the family, the view of the student, and the desire of the community to support students and enhance the student experience and learning.

SBCEO provides all Special Education services for students enrolled in these districts with fewer than 900 students and provides additional contracted services at the request of the District Superintendent.
