All SBCEO Centers are rooted in a play-based curriculum. These amazing, nationally accredited centers utilize Quality Coaching, Inclusion Curriculum, Teaching Pyramid, and other great SBCEO services!

Universal pre-k (UPK), also known as “preschool access for all,” and P3, is a policy framework that ensures any family who wants to enroll their preschool-aged child in a publicly-funded, pre-kindergarten care and education program has the opportunity to make that choice.

By 2025-26, California is poised to realize universal pre-kindergarten (UPK) through a combination of approaches and services. UPK consists of universal transitional kindergarten (UTK) as well as other programs and services that families can choose from to meet their needs and simultaneously ensure rich early learning opportunities for all three- and four-year-old children during the year or two prior to kindergarten.

An inclusive classroom is a learning environment in which students with and without disabilities learn together in the same classroom. Inclusive classrooms are designed to support the academic and social needs of all students, regardless of their differences.

Quality Counts helps parents find a childcare or preschool provider that makes quality a priority and optimally supports children’s healthy development.

High-quality early learning and care programs can have a lifelong, positive impact on young children and their families. The first five years of a child's life are the most crucial in their development, and it is important that children have the most supportive learning environment possible during that critical time. Research shows that children who attend quality early learning and care programs are more likely to succeed in school and less likely to drop out and/or need remedial education. 

Quality Counts is based on California’s Quality Improvement System (CA-QIS), which supports and rewards childcare providers for offering high-quality care and helps parents understand quality. Participating Quality Counts child care and preschool programs exceed state licensing standards and choose to be evaluated, make improvements, and measure those improvements every year. They achieve a star rating that indicates the level of quality the facility provides for children and families, much like the star ratings given to hotels and restaurants. The standards reflect what we know is good for children and prepares them for school.

Yes! Our Cal-SAFE programs provide teen parents with child care which allows them to complete their education. This program is free for parents who qualify!

Cal-SAFE programs provide friendly, healthy, and developmentally-appropriate environments for children and families to reach their full potential.  While participating in the Cal-SAFE program teen parents are educated in stress management, child development, positive parenting, and more.  Our staff provides direct connection with community resources to support the needs of the entire family. Caring for our youngest learners is essential and we are here to support the needs of the community. Children participating in our programs receive nutrition services, health screenings, and social/emotional support.  WE KNOW CHILDREN GO FURTHER WITH EARLY EDUCATION and we are excited to be part of the process.
