Santa Barbara County Superintendent of Schools Susan Salcido is accepting applications for the 2nd annual Santa Barbara County Student Advisory Council. This is an opportunity for high school students, from diverse regions throughout Santa Barbara County, to connect with the Superintendent on a variety of issues affecting students, schools, and communities. Superintendent Salcido and her team support 20 public school districts and 10 charter schools serving approximately 70,000 children & youth. The Superintendent is committed to creating opportunities to elevate student voice and bring students together to share their ideas and unique perspectives.

Eligibility requirements: All students attending Santa Barbara County public high schools (grades 9-12) are eligible to apply.
 

About the Student Advisory Council

The Santa Barbara County Superintendent of Schools Student Advisory Council is a unique opportunity for high school students throughout Santa Barbara County to share feedback, experiences, and perspectives on a variety of issues affecting schools and communities. Participating members convene for meetings led by the Superintendent covering a variety of topics throughout the school year, and also have the opportunity to present at County Board of Education meetings, accompany Dr. Salcido to school visits and other events, and learn more about the public education system. Council members serve a one-year term, coinciding with the school year.
